JP Morgan Chase (NYSE: JPM) announced Wednesday that its Chase banking unit has joined up with Disney (NYSE: DIS) to offer the Disney Rewards Visa Debit Card. The card joins the family of existing Chase Disney Rewards Visa cards previously launched by the pair.
The new card offers members a 10 percent discount on select Disney merchandise for purchases of $50 or more made at Disney store locations. Cardholders are also offered perks for Disney theme parks, such as, a meet and greet photo opportunity with a character at Walt Disney World or Disneyland.
“If you love Disney, this is the debit card for you. It helps you get more of the Disney you love – and makes your Disney experiences even better – from a personal photo opportunity with characters at our Theme Parks to extra savings while shopping at the Disney Store or at our Theme Parks,” said Jenny Cohen, Senior Vice President of Customer Relationship Management at The Walt Disney Company.
The new card offers four different Disney character designs, including two Mickey Mouse options and a “101 Dalmatians” card.
“This is an excellent new choice for Chase customers who prefer to make purchases with debit cards because of the immediacy and financial control it provides,” said Charlie Scharf, chief executive officer of Retail Financial Services for Chase.
“The Disney Rewards Debit Card introduces a whole new world of Disney benefits to debit cardholders,” added Scharf.
The Disney Rewards Debit Card comes with a $25 annual fee, which the cardholder can get back in the first year by receiving 25 bonus Disney Dream Reward Dollars after making five qualifying debit card purchases.
